Dogwoods

About this time of year the dogwoods bloom. I think this tree is called cornus florida in Latin. Here the hillsides are stained with patches of white, dogwoods in bloom. A few more days, and the flowers will be gone. Here's a close-up.
And here's the dog, Fidget, doing her imitation of wood.

More from Seattle

Here is the EMP with the SpaceNeedle in the background. I don't know how they put this building together; from the outside there is nary a straight line. Many find the building ugly, but I like it. The architecture was inspired by the music of Jimi Hendrix. In fact, one of the first things I saw upon entering the building was a huge wrap-around television screen and on it, Jimi, doing "Red House" in concert.

Inside the EMP. Who's this dummy?

The monorail goes right through the building, but from inside you never hear it go by.

Fortunately, I am neither. Or am I?

Do you want to read about the conference? I write about it here.

Snaps from Seattle

I went to Seattle to participate in the Pop Music Conference, sponsored by the Experience Music Project. It was a great trip.

This photo of the Space Needle was taken from my hotel room, less than a mile away. The EMP is at the same site.

This one was taken on the other side of the street from the hotel. Check out the sea plane on Lake Union.

(more to come)
